futopia (noun): 1. the idealized future in which the rational mind with the inventive intellect of humankind will resolve the collective challenges through negotiated and democratic consensus and a shared experience that appeals to universal and collective wants, desires, and ambitions. 2. the emphatic rejection of hope that is rooted in the futility of all actions in the present to shape to any positive end the future. Or in the words of George Orwell, "to hold on day after day, week after week, year after year, spinning out a future that has no future."
