Since the substance of belief is contained in the subjectivity and valuation of words, the truth of the individual is undeniably, unarguably "true." How one names the underlying actualities does not mitigate their gravity and influence. What is, is regardless of individualized and personalized evocation. Call a phenomena madness or call it magic and the facts of the matter remain the same: untenable for the limitations of human intelligence and beyond the awkward arrogance of language. One explanation is as good as another, while--undeniably--one (by virtue of its synergistic and complementary fit with an individual's world view) will hold more appeal and persuasion than a different one might.
Keep in mind that these constructs are merely memes. They are bought and sold and bartered in the public square. They are taught and retaught with the charisma and connection of teacher for pupil becoming a prime determinant in the long term resilience of a belief or set of beliefs. The critical introduction to an idea (really, only an interpretation) may be harmless chatter but, if peg meets hole, the delusions associated with belief (love, religion, diagnosis, etc) will most assuredly disrupt individual flow. Furthermore, approaching the world from this perspective will lead to serious consequences including conflict, displacement in primary relationships, and alienation, distance, from self. Here, the hunger for certainty attaches to those for whom the ambiguity of unknowing is unbearable. On the other side, for those who experience a randomness in action and an agnosticism in faith, this festival is a reminder to keep one's head and hold one's peace.
