Dragging Heaven for Rabid Angels

Dark shadows,
sins that sit in the corner
brood.  The impossible eyes
try to see the gasps, the sighs
the applause of bare white
shivering thighs
and the knuckles of the zombie
gorilla.

dragging

The river knows neither
or nothing
of murder, or evidence or
autopsy. The cadaver
rises with menacing grin
crossing the membrane
between this world
and hell.

heaven

Has a meteorologist
who knows that only God
could live in clouds
loudly painted by perpetual
dawn and eternal dusk.
This foaming, frothing
bubble bath is bathed in
adrenaline and musk
and hydrophobia.

rabid

Animals however
need their night
to fill with sex and crime
and fear.  And light
is mined by dilated eyes
and soap opera
politics that flicker
on the screen.
Black and white.
